	• The Single-Cell Probe is a novel bio-instrument for precisely studying the interaction of a cell with its environment. • Novel studies in proteomics, inter- and intra-cellular communication (through controlled feedback of reaction results), and protein function would be possible! • MEMS and microfabrication technology have already been applied successfully to key technology components • Further integration and complexity can readily be added.
