Mel King

Festschrift to honor

ABOUT

“Love is the Question & the Answer…”

Mel King

The Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA) at MIT is organizing a Festschrift to honor Mel King and his intellectual and work legacy. However, to truly honor Mel and his spirit, we will look forward, using what we have learned from Mel and applying it towards actions to make a better future. This event is  a fundraiser for the South End Technology Center (SETC) so that it is able to continue and further the ideals.

This free event will include talks, panels, poetry, music, video, and art. We will publish a book from the contributions of participants, the proceeds of which will also raise funds for SETC.

Contributions should focus on what we have learned from Mel and his work and how we are and will apply these lessons going forward.

The Mel King Festschrift is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, with a reception to follow. This is a companion event to the Symposium on Computational Fabrication that CBA is hosting at MIT June 17-19: https://scf.acm.org/.
